Fourth person arrested in connection with murder of Devon Marsman

Halifax Regional Police have arrested a fourth person in an ongoing investigation into the murder of Devon Marsman who went missing in February 2022.

On the night of Oct. 24, Chelsey Herritt, 26, turned herself in to police. Herritt was subsequently arrested and charged with being an accessory after the fact of murder and committing indignity to human remains.

Herritt will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Oct. 28.

She is the fourth person to be charged in the murder case. In September, police arrested 23-year-old Emma Maria Meta Casey who is facing charges of accessory after the fact to murder, indignity to human remains and obstructing justice.

Police also arrested Treyton Alexander Marsman, 26, and a 20-year-old, who was a youth at the time of the alleged incident.

Treyton Marsman, is related to Devon, and is facing charges including second-degree murder and indignity to human remains.

The 20-year-old is facing charges including accessory after the fact to murder and obstructing justice.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and they are not ruling out the possibility of future arrests.

The human remains that are believed to be Devon Marsman’s continue to be with the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service for identification.

Police believe there are still people with information and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
