Police investigate shots fired in North Preston

Investigators are asking for help after a series of shots being fired in North Preston in the early hours of Friday morning was reported.

RCMP officers, along with a police services dog, were dispatched to the scene in the 100 block of Simmonds Road. Around 4:05 a.m., residents living nearby said they heard shots being fired and a vehicle fleeing from the area.

Police searched the immediate area and found some evidence that they say was consistent with shots being fired.  Police did say that there have been no reports of any injuries or any property damage.

The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigations Division and the RCMP Forensic Identification Section have been called in to investigate.
