Mooseheads snap losing streak with 5-4 win over Foreurs

The Halifax Mooseheads snapped a five game losing streak on Sunday as they picked up a 5-4 win over the Val-d’Or Foreurs.

Brady Schultz opened up the scoring in the opening minute of gameplay, putting the Herd up early but Nathaniel Harvey quickly answered back to tie things back up at 1-1.

Eddy Doyle helped Halifax retake the lead but Nathan Brisson managed to even things up near the end of the opening frame.

The Mooseheads came out swinging in the second period, with Jan Sprynar and Liam Kilfoil netting back-to-back goals to give Halifax a 4-2 lead.

Alexis Fortin brought the Foreurs with one late in the second period but Halifax answered back in the third period as Jack Martin put the Herd up by two.

Val-d’Or responded once again as Noah Reinhart found the back the back of Halifax’s net but the Herd managed to hang on to pick up their first win in Quebec this season.

The Mooseheads head back home on Thursday as they get set to welcome the Shawinigan Cataractes.
