12 charges laid after loaded firearms seized during police search in Bedford

A search warrant executed in Bedford over the weekend led to the arrests of three people.

Halifax Regional Police says members of its emergency response team, the special investigations section and the integrated criminal investigations division conducted the warrant on Feb. 1 at a home on Innovation Drive in Bedford.

The search, police say, turned up loaded firearms and a functional taser.

Corez Kane Taijon Williams, 28, and Martino Maurice Williams, 20, were expected to appear in court on Monday facing a long list of weapon-related charges, according to police.

Charges laid included:

  • Possession of prohibited weapon (Taser)
  • Unsafe handling of a firearm
  • Unsafe storage contrary to regulations
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device (x2)
  • Possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized
  • Possession of a prohibited device knowing it is unauthorized (x2)
  • Unauthorized possession in motor vehicle
  • Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Possession of firearm obtained by commission of an offence

Rashaun Martino Allison, 26, was also expected in court Monday on a charge of possession of a prohibited weapon.
