Overnight parking ban in effect for HRM

With five to 10 more centimetres of snow expected to fall in Halifax into the evening, the municipality is enforcing an overnight winter parking ban from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday Feb. 10.

The ban will be in effect for both Central and Non-Central Zones.

Vehicles must be parked off municipal streets during the hours noted. Vehicles can be towed if they are interfering with snow-clearing operations.

Residents are also reminded not to park vehicles where they obstruct a driveway or sidewalk as it makes clearing more difficult which can become an accessibility issue for pedestrians.

Property owners must also make sure that snow they clear from their own driveway is piled on their own property.
