Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the Halifax area as a system brings heavy precipitation to the area on Wednesday.
The national forecaster says the area can expect to see 25 to 50 mm of rain through Wednesday evening, and says the frozen ground will struggle to absorb the water, so water is likely to pool on roads and in low-lying areas.
Environment Canada called for rain in the Halifax area to continue into Wednesday evening, easing to showers overnight.
The warning, which is at the “yellow” colour-code level, is also in effect for Lunenburg County, Kings County, Hants County, and Colchester County – Truro and south, and Colchester County – Cobequid Bay.
