Thunderbirds defeat Swarm to advance to NLL final

The National Lacrosse League’s championship series will be an all-Canadian affair.

The Halifax Thunderbirds defeated the visiting Georgia Swarm 15-11 Sunday to win their best-of-three semifinal series 2-1.

The T-Birds advance to the best-of-three final and will meet the Toronto Rock, who beat the San Diego Seals 14-8 on Saturday to win that semifinal series in three games.

Game 1 of the NLL finals is scheduled for May 15 in Toronto, with Game 2 set for May 17 in Halifax. If a third game is needed, it will be played on May 23 in Toronto.
