RCMP investigating arson and attempted arson in Timberlea

The RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is asking the public for any information they have about an arson incident and attempted arson in Timberlea.
They say that on Sept. 5, emergency services responded to a report of a Molotov cocktail being thrown at a home. It happened in the 400 block of Marketway Lane at roughly 2:20 a.m.
When police arrived at the scene, the house was already fully overtaken by the fire. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, though some buildings beside the fire saw minor damages.
Two days later, on Sept. 7, around 4:10 a.m., police say they again received reports at the 400 block of Marketway Lane, after getting calls about a suspicious person.
Through their investigation, officials learned that a man was seen leaving a residence with a cloth that was on fire. They added that the man then dropped the cloth and left the area in a vehicle.
Police say they are looking into the incident as an attempted arson; adding that their investigation is still ongoing.
Officials are asking for more information related to a small blue vehicle that was seen leaving the area on Sept. 5. They are also looking to identify a man that was seen wearing black pants, a brown jacket, driving in a grey Honda Civic. Police are asking people to look at their dashcam or doorbell cameras from the Marketway Lane area, between 1:30 a.m. and 5 a.m., for those two incidents.
