Federal Tories backing away from mayor

Federal Tories are reportedly rethinking Peter Kelly as a possible candidate in Halifax-West.

The Herald is quoting party sources who say the city hall scandal has given the party pause.

One Tory source told the paper this stuff certainly makes them take a second look and one Nova Scotia Conservative is quoted as saying Kelly isn’t as attractive as he was before word of the scandal broke.

When asked about running federally, Kelly told us that he is concentrating on his present job.
