N.S. gas prices to fall by penny a litre

RCMP are still trying to figure out what led to a fatal crash between a car and train on a crossing just steps from the victim’s home.
Julie Vials, 60, was killed when the car she was driving was hit by a VIA rail train Wednesday afternoon at a private crossing on watson lane in Windsor Junction – just 30 metres from her home.
Vials was rushed to hospital, but died of her injuries soon afterwards.
Her neighbour, Becky Atwell tells CTV Vials had lived in the neighbourhood for 40 years and knew the train schedule and crossing well.
“I’ll never understand what happened, because she’s lived here for 40 years,” she said. “She knows the area, she knows the tracks, she knows the trains.”
Other neighbours describe Vials as a sweetheart who was a popular volunteer in the area.
Vials’ car, a blue Hyundai, was reportedly new and in good condition. It was smashed off the tracks when the train hit the rear end, and landed on its roof about 10 metres away.
The train stopped about a kilometre up the tracks and resumed its journey about two hours after the collision. No one on board was hurt.
