Halifax man’s Internet luring, child pornography trial set for July

HALIFAX – A Halifax man accused of luring a 16-year-old girl over the Internet will stand trial in July.

Greg MacLellan Taylor was arrested last October after police executed a search warrant at his apartment on Gladstone Street and seized computer equipment.

The 34-year-old man is charged with Internet luring, making child pornography and possession of child pornography.

Lawyer David Bright entered not guilty pleas on Taylor’s behalf this week in Halifax provincial court and his trial was set for July 23.

Crown attorney Craig Botterill says police began investigating Taylor after receiving a complaint from Facebook security in April 2013.

Police allege the offences were committed between August 2012 and October 2013.

Taylor remains free on conditions restricting his Internet use and his contact with children.
