Natal Day weekend in Halifax

From live music and entertainment, to free pancake breakfasts, the Natal Day long weekend will be filled with plenty of activities to keep the family busy.

Alderney Landing will once again be the site of a free concert Saturday night, headlined by the Great Lakes
Swimmers.  The event is free, and so is the ferry ride across the harbour to take you there.

Expect closures on the MacDonald as the bridge will be hosting four events over the weekend, including the main fireworks display at dusk Saturday.  Chair of the Natal Day Festival Committee Tim Rissesco told News 95.7 that this is the last year until 2017 they will be set off from the MacDonald Bridge.

“With the bridge out of commission next year, it will be a couple years before people see that show again, so let’s hope for good weather.” said Rissesco.

Fireworks will also be lit off on the Halifax Common Sunday and at Lake Banook Monday.
