Search continues for Halifax skydiver missing in Utah

The sister of a Halifax man who’s been missing in Utah for nearly two weeks says she’s hopeful her brother will be found alive and well.

Dave Brown, 37, hasn’t been seen or heard from since June 29th. His family reported him missing on July 2.

Brown is a professional skydiver who’s been living and working in Moab, Utah for the past two months. Police working on the case do not suspect foul play in Brown’s disappearance.

But at the same time, Brown’s sister Wendi TeKamp says it’s out of character for her brother to disappear.

“He takes his skydiving life so incredibly seriously that not to show up for work is entirely un-characteristic,” she says. “It’s not like Dave. So, that was one of the biggest, kind of first impressions that something is not right.”

Police, rescue dogs and the skydiving community are all on the ground searching for the Halifax native. The focus of the search lies in and around Brown’s place of residence in Moab.
