Man arrested after Dartmouth robberies

A Dartmouth  man is due in court this morning facing charges after two robberies in metro.

Regional police officers were called to the One Stop Shop on Windmill Road at 8:45 Sunday night after it was robbed.

The clerk said a man claimed to have a gun and demanded cash, getting away witha  small amount.

Sgt. Greg Robertson tells News 95.7 the suspect description matched the one from an earlier robbery at the Petro Canada on Victoria Road around 4:40 p.m.

“By reviewing the surveillance tape and other investigative measures, we learned that it was the same suspect,” he said.

Robertson says it didn’t take long for officers to make an arrest.

“The suspect was arrest within 10 minutes close to the scene,” he said.

A 45-year-old man is facing two counts of robbery.

No one was hurt in either case.
