Two face charges following Lakeside theft investigation

LAKESIDE, N.S. – RCMP say two Lakeside men face numerous break and enter charges following nine thefts of copper wire from the Lakeside Industrial Park at various times between December 8 and December 27.

Police were alerted after a call 10:30 p.m. Sunday night about a possible break and enter in progress.

An HRP K-9 Unit helped RCMP track down two suspects who were arrested.

A short time later, investigators using a search warrant searched a nearby vehicle which police say yielded some evidence of the crime.

Two men from Colchester County, a 42-year-old and a 17-year-old youth, were released from custody and are both scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court January 7.

Both face nine charges of Break and Enter while the adult is facing an additional charge of Possession of a Break-in Instrument.

No names were released, and police say the investigation is ongoing.
