MONCTON, N.B. – The Halifax Mooseheads defeated the Moncton Wildcats 4-2 Friday night.
It was a high scoring opening period as the Wildcats took a quick 2-0 lead on a pair of power play goals from Jacob Hudson and Elliot Desnoyers.
But the Herd answered right back as Raphael Lavoie and Max Trepanier tied the game up heading into the second.
After a scoreless second period, Benoit Olivier-Groulx put Halifax up 3-2 early in the third period.
Lavoie iced the game with his second of the evening to make it a 4-2 final in Halifax's favour.
The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre on Sunday when they welcome the Val-d'Or Foreurs.
