Brass knuckles found after man arrested during south end traffic stop

By Katie Hartai

Police found brass knuckles when conducting a traffic stop Sunday morning.

Halifax Regional Police says it stopped a suspected impaired driver at 4:10 a.m. on Morris Street in the South End of the city.

The driver, a 29-year-old male from New Glasgow, received a warning on the Roadside Screening Device.

Police say they tasered the man, after he became very agitated and physically confrontational with officers.

Officers then found and seized brass knuckles, a prohibited weapon, after arresting the driver.

The male will be held for court and charged with Assault Peace Officer, Resist Arrest, Uttering Threats and Possession of Prohibited Weapon.
