The Halifax Mooseheads topped the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 6-4 on Friday night.
Jordan Dumais opened up the scoring near the midway point of the first period, giving Halifax a 1-0 lead.
Louis-Philippe Fontaine answered back for Huskies to tie things up.
Markus Vidicek restored the Herd’s lead in the second period but the Huskies answered back again as Antonin Verreault made it 2-2.
Dumais netted his second of the evening to take back the lead with Reece Peitzsche following up to make it 4-2 shortly after.
Dumais completed the hat-trick late in the final period to give Halifax a three goal lead but Jérémy Langlois answered back shortly after.
But in a rare sighting, Mooseheads goalie Mathis Rousseau scored an empty-netter to give Halifax a 6-3 lead.
Thomas Verdon added one more for the Huskies but it wasn’t enough as the Herd held on to win it 6-4.
The Mooseheads are back in action on Saturday when they welcome the Val-d’Or Foreurs.
