Halifax police investigate attempted vehicle theft

Regional police are investigating a robbery that took place in Halifax Sunday night.

At roughly 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing that took place near South Park and Clyde Streets where a man tried to steal a vehicle that was parked near that location.

Police say the man cut the vehicle’s owner with a knife when he confronted him, then fled the area on foot.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect is described as a white man in his 20s to 30s, approximately 5’7″ tall, with a stocky build, dark hair, wearing jeans, a light blue-green hooded sweatshirt, a black mask and black backpack.
