No charges will be laid in Halifax Transit bus crash that killed a woman

Halifax Regional Police says it has concluded its investigation into a crash that saw a woman killed after being hit by a bus in downtown Halifax last month.

The 24-year-old was killed on the morning of Oct. 31, after she was struck by the Halifax Transit bus at the corner of Spring Garden Road and South Park Street.

Police say the woman was trying to catch up to the bus when she was hit, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Halifax Regional Police has concluded the investigation and has determined no charges will be laid and no summary offence tickets will be issued,” police wrote in a media release.

The crash prompted Halifax Regional Council last week to unanimously ask staff for a report looking into recent crashes involving Halifax Transit buses.
