Remains found at Cousins Lake confirmed to be missing boater

The Nova Scotia Media Examiner Service confirmed the remains found at Cousins Lake were those of a missing boater in early April.
RCMP said that multiple policing agencies and fire services responded on April 10 after a report of a capsized boat on a lake northeast of Halifax.
Mounties said two men were travelling on the lake in a small pleasure craft before it took on water. A 50-year-old man who swam to the shore and called for help suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS. But the second passenger, a 58-year-old man from Truro, was missing.
Over several weeks, underwater searches were conducted but nothing turned up.
However, police say that when the man’s loved ones attended the lake, on May 4 is when the found remains.
The medical examiner was able to confirm that they are the remains of the missing boater. The death is not believed to be suspicious.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s loved ones at this difficult time,” police said.
