Critical injuries after late-night weapons incident on Gottingen Street

A person was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a weapons incident on Gottingen Street in Halifax late Thursday night.
Halifax Regional Police were called to the 2000 block of Gottingen Street, near Cogswell Street, around 11 p.m. They found an adult victim suffering from injuries described as life-threatening. The unidentified person was transported to hospital for emergency treatment.
Police have not released details about the type of weapon involved or whether any suspects have been identified.
Gottingen Street was closed in the area for several hours but reopened around 3:30 a.m. Friday.
Earlier in the evening, officers responded to another weapons call in Dartmouth. Police said the incident occurred near Charlottetown Way and Nabob Court. Streets in that area were also closed for a time but have since reopened.
Police have not indicated if the two incidents are connected.
