Man living in Shubie Park charged with child pornography offences

Police have charged a man living in Shubie Park Campground with child pornography offences earlier this week.

On the morning of July 27, Kevin Richard Barker, 46, was found to be in breach of his probation order not to be in public parks where persons under the age of 16 could be present.

According to Halifax Regional Police, this order stemmed from a prior conviction with the Calgary Police Service where Barker was charged with possession of child pornography.

Police seized Barker’s vehicle and electronic devices during the arrest, which resulted in officers charging him with possession of child pornography.

He was scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court on Friday.
