There’s a new boss at the RCMP’s Halifax Regional Detachment.
Chief Superintendent John Duff has been appointed to the role of Officer in Charge, the Mounties announced on Monday morning.
The RCMP says Duff, a Halifax native, has 35 years of service in Nova Scotia and in Manitoba.
“I want to continue integration with Halifax Regional Police, elevate community safety, and strengthen our connection with the communities we serve while ensuring health and wellness of our employees,” Duff said in a media release.
According to the RCMP, Duff joined the force in 1990 and retired in 2018 before rejoining and taking on the role of Manitoba East District Commander in 2021. He served four years in that role before returning to Nova Scotia.
