Fuel prices see a significant jump in Halifax

A big jump at the pumps in Nova Scotia this morning.

Using its weekly adjustment, the Nova Scotia Energy Board increased the price of self-serve regular gasoline in Halifax by 4.9 cents at midnight to 132.4 cents per litre.

Diesel prices went up even further to 160.1.

That is an increase of 5.7 cents per litre over its previous price of 154.4 in the Halifax area.

It is still a far cry from where fuel prices were on this date one year ago, when motorists were paying 1.63 for gas, and 192.9 for diesel.
