It was a rather spooky Friday the 13th for the Halifax Mooseheads as they suffered their toughest loss of the season to the Moncton Wildcats.
They fell to the Wildcats 11-1 at the Scotiabank Centre.
Wildcats centre Caleb Desnoyers won first star of the game scoring one goal in the second period and providing three assists.
Wildcats’ defenceman Adam Fortier-Gendron scored his first hat trick of his QMJHL career and was the second star of the game
The lone goal for the Herd was scored by Quinn Kennedy in the first period, marking his 21st this year. He landed third star of the game.
The game saw a fair number of minor penalties. Mooseheads players Samuel Rousseau and Patrick McNab, and Alex Mercier of the Wildcats, were all handed a game misconduct in the second for unsportsmanlike conduct.
The Wildcats are currently first place in the QMJHL standings.
The two teams will rematch on Heritage Day Monday at 2PM.
That game is happening in Moncton and Garreth MacDonald will have all the action on 95.7 News Radio.
