Three teens charged after assault involving bear spray in Truro

Police in Truro have arrested a trio of teenagers after responding to an assault in progress at Victoria Park.

Officers were called around 7 p.m. on Monday to the area after several calls regarding the assault involving two groups of young people.

According to police, bear spray was used during the incident and officers arrested two suspects connected to the assault.

A 16-year-old male was held in custody overnight and appeared in court on Tuesday to face charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon as well as wearing a disguise while committing a criminal offence.

He will also be charged with breach of an earlier court release order, and property damage.

A 17-year-old male has also been charged with property damage and breach of an earlier release order while a 13-year-old male will also face property damage and breach of an earlier release order charges.

Truro Police say three of the victims were taken to hospital by EHS, and one victim was treated at the scene and released.
