The RCMP is investigating an ATV crash that resulted in serious injuries.

It happened just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday night on Blue Sac Rd. in Lower Five Islands.

Responding officers found an ATV off the road. The rider had been thrown about 30 feet in the woods and investigators determined the driver of the ATV lost control as a result of speeding.

The driver and lone rider, a 20-year-old man from Parrsboro, were transported to Colchester County Regional Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Charges are pending against the driver. The investigation is ongoing.
