A big drop in the price of gasoline is on the way.
Our newsroom has gone over the numbers and we are predicting that the regulated price for gasoline will drop by about 4 cents a litre at midnight.
George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices told News 95.7, indications are that prices will continue to slide but ultimately it will depend on what happens south of the border.
“Even though there’s a bit of a recovery happening in the U.S. marketplace, do consumers out there have enough money to spend to actually maintain it?” questioned Murphy.
Murphy added now that the Christmas driving season is now behind us, the drop in demand is helping to drive prices down and he expects prices to continue to fall as we get deeper into winter.
New Brunswickers are paying less for gasoline this morning. Regulated prices there fell by 4 cents overnight to a new maximum price of $129.3.
