The Conservatives have once again taken the South Shore-St. Margarets riding.

Businessman Rick Perkins has ousted Liberal Bernadette Jordan, the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard.

Perkins was also the South Shore-St. Margarets Conservative candidate in 2019, losing to Jordan by over 7,000 votes just two years ago.

Jordan was first elected as MP of the riding in 2015 and re-elected in 2019.

As of 11:59 p.m. with 269 of 270 polls reporting, Perkins has been able to capture 41 per cent of the vote with 19,771 votes, compared to Jordan's 37 per cent or 17,793 votes.

Olivia Dorey with the NDP has 9,274 votes and the Green Party's Thomas Trappenberg has 1,395 votes.
