Dalhousie to require masks in the classroom this fall

Another local university is making masks mandatory in some spaces for the upcoming school year.

Dalhousie University issued an update on Thursday, announcing masks will be required in classrooms and instructional spaces.

Masks will be recommended in other indoor spaces.

“Masks continue to be welcome in other indoor spaces and are strongly recommended in libraries and learning commons as well as gathering spaces where physical distancing may be difficult (for example, hallways, lobbies and elevators),” the statement read.

The decision follows a similar move by Mount Saint Vincent University.

Saint Mary's University has announced it will not require masks but they will be recommended.
