Halifax taxi driver accused of sexual assault in January identified

Halifax Regional Police have released the identity of a taxi driver charged with the sexual assault of a passenger last month.
A woman contacted police at around 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6.
She told them the driver took her to a Halifax residence, then sexually assaulted her while she was in the taxi.
The allegation has not been proven in court.
The charge has now been sworn in Halifax Provincial Court for 36-year-old Tesfom Kidane Mengis of Halifax.
He is scheduled to appear in court on February 26, 2019.
