Man arrested on assault, weapons charges after Spryfield incident

A significant police presence in Spryfield last night that blocked off a street has resulted in an arrest.

Around four o'clock Tuesday afternoon, police responded to a call about a woman that had been assaulted on Forbes Street. Police also had information about a possible firearm at the scene.

After arriving, police found the woman in question who had been assaulted by a man she knew - she was subsequently taken to the QEII for treatment of non life threatening injuries.

The man was believed to be inside an apartment building on Forbes St, around nine o'clock last night police arrested a man for assault and weapons charges.
