Monday will be a provincial holiday in Nova Scotia.
The province has announced government offices, public schools and regulated child care will be closed on September 19 in honour of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's funeral service, but other businesses will be able to choose whether or not to remain open.
Healthcare services, appointments and procedures will still be a go across the province.
“Nova Scotia joins the Government of Canada and other provinces recognizing September 19 as a day to honour and pay tribute to the life and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,” said Premier Tim Houston in a news release.
Earlier Tuesday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that Monday would be a federal holiday and a national day of mourning.
That applied to federal employees, but it would be up to provincial and territorial governments to declare if it will be a day off for the remaining workers.
The province of Nova Scotia will also be hosting a multi-faith memorial service at the Cathedral Church of All Saints Monday afternoon.
Those who can't make it in person can watch a livestream through Facebook or YouTube.
