Mooseheads defeat Screaming Eagles 4-2

By Chris Halef

HALIFAX – The Halifax Mooseheads came out on top on Saturday night, defeating the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 4-2 at the Scotiabank Centre.

Jared McIsaac opened things up with a quick power play goal at the 4:10 mark of the first period. Cape Breton's Peyton Hoyt tied things up at 1-1 after 20 minutes.

Patrick Kyte scored his second goal as a Moosehead early in the second period, but Jordan Ty Fournier followed up minutes later to tie things up again.

Xavier Parent gave the Herd a 3-2 lead heading into the final period. An empty net goal from Connor Moynihan helped seal the deal, as the Mooseheads walked away with the 4-2 win.

The Mooseheads won't be back in action until Dec. 28, when they host the Charlottetown Islanders.
