Mooseheads look to keep season alive in Bathurst

By Mark Hodgins

The Halifax Mooseheads will have a chance to advance to the second round of the playoffs on Friday night if they can top the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

It's been an intense series up to this point as the Mooseheads took games one and two in Bathurst, and the Titan took the following two games in Halifax.

Wednesday nights' game saw the teams battle into triple overtime, the longest game in Mooseheads' history. But it would be Enfield's Riley Kidney with a late-period marker to give Bathurst the victory in the marathon match.

The QMJHL postponed game 5, originally set to be played less than 24 hours later, to Friday in the interest of player safety.

Now Halifax will look to keep their season alive against an opponent many considered the clear favourite.

Faceoff is set for 7 p.m. Friday in Bathurst. You can catch all the action with Garreth MacDonald on CityNews 95.7.
