HALIFAX – The Halifax Mooseheads returned to the Scotiabank Centre in style Friday night, dominating the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in a 5-2 victory.
Connor Moynihan opened up the flood gates at the 4:43 mark of the opening period, scoring his 10th of the season. Xavier Parent followed up at the 17:21 mark on a power play to make it 2-0 Halifax heading into the second period.
The Herd built on that first period momentum, with Patrick Kyte, Arnaud Durandeau and Maxime Fortier all finding the back of the Titan's net to make it 5-0 after two periods.
German Rubstav scored the Titan's first goal of the night early in the third period with Felix-Antoine Drolet following up a short time later. But it wasn't enough, as Halifax managed to hold on to their lead and secure the 5-2 win.
The Mooseheads will be back in action on Saturday, taking on the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles at the Scotiabank Centre.
