Most public school students in Halifax Regional Municipality will be returning to classes Wednesday.

The Department of Education says that includes the Halifax Regional Centre for Education and Conseil scolaire acadien provincial schools.

"For schools where classes remain cancelled, Halifax and CSAP staff or principals will communicate with families," the department said in a news release.

Wednesday morning, HRCE says Atlantic View Elementary will remain closed as it does not have power.

Students in Chignecto-Central, Strait and Cape Breton-Victoria regional centres for education have Wednesday off.

Classes in Cape Breton-Victoria are also cancelled Thursday.

There's no school Friday province-wide as its Truth and Reconciliation Day.
