Pre-packaged cooked shrimp recalled by Loblaw

By CityNews Halifax Staff

Certain packages of cooked shrimp have been recalled by Loblaw Companies Limited.

They say there's the potential presence of raw shrimp, which could contain harmful bacteria.

The thaw-and-serve shrimp is sold in 300-gram packages containing 56-65 shrimp per pound.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says consumers should not eat the recalled product. The packages should be thrown out or returned to the store.

In Atlantic Canada the product was sold at Atlantic Superstore, Dominion, Independent, No Frills, Wholesale Club, and affiliated independent stores.

The CFIA says there have been no reported illnesses associated with eating the product.
