A man has been charged with impaired driving after a concerned driver reported a vehicle that was swerving all over Hammonds Plains Rd.

Halifax District RCMP say it happened at around 11:30 p.m. Monday.

The witness gave Mounties a description of the vehicle and its location, and officers were able to locate a suspect vehicle in the driveway of a home in Hammonds Plains.

A suspect was arrested and taken in for a breath test. RCMP say the results showed his blood alcohol level was three times over the legal limit.

The 39-year-old is scheduled to appear in court on September 24.

“Police encourage citizens to report suspected impaired drivers as soon as they can safely do so by calling 1-800-803-RCMP anywhere in Nova Scotia, or 911 for emergencies,” police said in a news release.

“Be prepared to provide a description of the vehicle and driver, the license plate number, and the direction of travel.”
