Man charged in convenience store robbery

A man has been charged in a convenience store robbery over the weekend.

Halifax Regional Police were called to the Needs on Chebucto Road at around 1:45 a.m. Sunday.

Officers were told a man with a can of sensory irritant demanded cash from employees but left empty-handed.

No one was hurt and a suspect was soon arrested.

Michael Keith Brown, 27, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of robbery with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a concealed weapon and breach of a probation order.
