A Newport man has been charged with stunting on Dunbrack St. Tuesday afternoon.

Halifax Regional Police say an officer captured a motorcycle's speed at 104 km/h in a 50 km/h zone near Kearney Lake Road at around 1:45 p.m.

The fine for stunting is $2,422.50 and six points are assigned to the driver's record.

In addition, the 55-year-old has been suspended from driving for a week and the motorcycle he was riding has been impounded.

“We all have a role to play in keeping our roads safe,” said HRP in a news release. “If you see someone driving dangerously, report it to police by calling 911.”
