Police look for driver in south end hit-and-run (update: driver identified)

UPDATE: Halifax Regional Police say they have identified the driver in this incident. Their investigation is ongoing.

Halifax Regional Police are looking for the driver of a blue vehicle with British Columbia plates after a teen on a bike was struck Thursday.

It happened at around 4 p.m. on Oxford Street south of Coburg.

The 14-year-old was taken to hospital for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the driver stopped briefly before leaving the area.

He's described as white and in his 50s with a scar on the side of his neck. It's believed the blue vehicle might be a Mazda or Subaru.

Anyone with information or video from the area is asked to call police at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
