A 58-year-old man has turned himself into Halifax Regional Police following a bank robbery at the Clayton Park Shopping Centre Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the TD Canada Trust on Lacewood Drive at around 11:30 a.m.

Witnesses said a man armed with an edged weapon handed a note to a teller demanding money before running off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officers arrested a man nearby that matched the suspect description, but he was released without charges after investigators determined he wasn't involved.

Another man turned himself in at around 11 a.m. Wednesday and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday on charges of robbery, possession of a weapon and wearing a disguise.

Police are still investigating and ask anyone with information, or with video from that area at that time, to contact them.
