Gottingen Street reopens following suspicious package investigation (update)

UPDATE: Halifax Regional Police have determined the package was not a threat to public safety and the area has been reopened to the public.

A suspicious package has shut down a section of Gottingen Street Friday afternoon.
As of 2:30 p.m., Halifax Regional Police say the road is closed to both vehicles and pedestrians between Bloomfield Street and Bilby Street.
Almon Street is also closed between Gottingen and Isleville Street.
Police are asking the public to stay away from the area while they investigate.
