Two men are facing multiple charges after an assault occurred in Halifax on Sunday.

On Aug. 29 at around 6 p.m., Halifax Regional Police officers responded to a report of an assault in progress near the intersection of Dublin and Willow streets towards the city's west end.

“Officers located a 30-year-old man who had been assaulted,” an HRP news release. “He was taken to hospital for treatment of what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.”

HRP says the suspects fled the scene once officers arrived, but they were arrested in the area a short time later.

The men, ages 28 and 34, are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of:

  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Resisting arrest
  • Breach of probation
