Islanders defeat Mooseheads 8-1

The Charlottetown Islanders defeated the Halifax Mooseheads 8-1 on Tuesday.

The Islanders got off to a great start, as Patrick Guay, Thomas Casey and Lukas Cormier scored three unanswered goals in the opening period.

Oscar Plandowski and Ben Boyd extended that lead in the second period.

Attilio Biasca finally put the Herd on the board to make it 5-1 after 40 minutes.

Noah Laaouan, Brett Budgell and Felix Tremblay added to Charlottetown's lead to make it an 8-1 final.

The two teams are back at it on Saturday in Halifax.
