Wildcats defeat Mooseheads 4-3 in OT

The Moncton Wildcats defeated the Halifax Mooseheads 4-3 in overtime on Wednesday.

The Mooseheads drew first blood on a Jordan Dumais marker in the first period.

Maxim Barbashev tied things up for Moncton in the final seconds of the opening frame, making it 1-1 going into the second period.

Dumais netted his second of the night to help restore Halifax's lead but Vincent Labelle tied things up for the Wildcats minutes later.

Alexis Daniel put Moncton up 3-2 late in the second period.

Reece Peitzsche tied things back up early in the third period, forcing overtime where Alex Mercier netted the game winner to give the Wildcats the win.

The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre on Friday when they welcome the Charlottetown Islanders.
