Another Canadian soldier killed in Afghanistan

Canadian forces in Afghanistan have suffered another fatal casualty and again it was because of an IED, or improvised explosive device.
An Afghan soldier also died in the blast and an interpreter was seriously injured.
Lt. Andrew Nuttall was on foot patrol yesterday in the volatile Panjwaii district southwest of Kandahar City when he was killed by the blast.
The 30-year-old Prince Rupert, B.C. native was a member of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry based out of Edmonton.
Brigadier General Daniel Menard says Nuttall came to Afghanistan because he honestly thought he could make a difference.
“Andrew was an excellent young officer, fit with fire in his soul and a tender heart that gave generously and knew no bounds.”
His family says they were proud of his decision to join the military.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper says Nuttall’s sacrifice will not be forgotten.
Nuttall’s death brings to 134 now the number of Canadian forces members killed since the mission to Afghanistan began in 2002.
