Three people arrested but one man facing slew of weapon charges

Regional police searched a home in connection to an investigation and laid several charges against one man.

Around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, police executed a search warrant at a house in Dartmouth on Courtney Road. It was for a firearm investigation, officers said in a press release.

When they arrived, they seized a gun, ammunition, a replica BB handgun and stolen property.

Officials took three people into custody; however two, a man and a woman, were released without charges.

As a result, a Michael Saulnier, 34, is expected to appear in court to face charges of:

  • Unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Possess weapon dangerous to public peace
  • Store firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations
  • Possess prohibited/restricted weapon/ammunition-no license
  • Possess loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possess firearm in vehicle
  • Possess firearm contrary to order/fail to surrender (x2)
  • Possess firearm/prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00 (x2)
  • Carrying concealed weapon
